Wine Room Repair - glass wine feature with mold.
This glass wine feature was built by the homebuilder a few years ago. There was a consistent mold problem on one wall so the client asked us to diagnose and repair.
The problem was no gap between the cold glass wall and the warm cabinet wall. The cold air coming off the glass wall was not able to dissipate so condensation was created which resulted in mold.
Our solution was to install an insulated pony wall against the cabinet wall and install a new glass wall that does not touch anything. The cold air dissipates just as it has done on the other walls.
Our pony wall has three layers to provide support for the glass and as much insulation and vapor barriers as possible.
The new glass wall has a leg coming down the side to add a little visual touch.
We finished the pony wall to match the cabinet so it looks like it was always there.

The new pony wall blends in visually and the glass leg down the side creates an interesting visual.
Everything looks like it's original and there was never a problem.
