Managing the Collection is Key
Knowing the wines in the collection, when to drink them, and if possible, where they are in the cellar is very important to a properly maintained collection.
NCV is the partner for Opus by Invintory in Houston, the Hill Country, and the Corpus Christi area. Opus is the only tool on the market at a reasonable price that shows you where each bottle is located in the cellar.
NCV will design a collection management process based on your collecting habits using Invintory, Opus, or Cellar Tracker.
Invintory is for small to medium size cellars and provides a very simple virtual drawing of your racking so the bottles are easy to find.
Opus by Invintory is for medium to large cellars and it uses a virtual drawing of your entire custom cellar so all the bottles are easy to locate.
Cellar Tracker is exceptional at all aspects of collection management without the visual representation of the racking.
Step 1
Analyze the collection and your collecting habits. This includes thinking about the racking system in terms of how you want the bottles organized. If you’re using Opus, this step include having your custom cellar entered into the software.
Step 2
Develop the organization structure. This might include deciding if the bottles are organized by grape, by region, or by vintage.
Step 3
Put the bottles into the software and racking. This includes organizing the bottles correctly and entering the information accurately into the software. It includes entering the bottle location as well.
Options
Regular Maintenance: We can implement a maintenance program around your collecting habits. We could do a weekly, monthly, or quarterly cellar review.
Multiple locations: We can manage multiple locations including local wine storage facilities and out-of-town homes.
